Generate up to 500 personalized PDFs from a Word template and a spreadsheet -- free, no signup required
Our free mail merge to PDF tool takes a Word document with placeholder fields like {{name}} or {{invoice_total}}, and a spreadsheet where each row is one recipient, and generates a personalized PDF for every single row automatically. Instead of manually editing and exporting a document one contact at a time, upload both files once and download a ZIP containing every finished PDF, each one correctly filled in and ready to send. Works for invoices, certificates, personalized letters, contracts, and any other document you need to send to a list of people with a few details changed each time. Free to use, with no watermark added.
Type {{field}} wherever you want a value inserted, such as {{name}} or {{amount}}, then upload the .docx file.
Upload an Excel or CSV file with one row per recipient. Column headers must match your placeholder names, but not the capitalization.
Download a ZIP with one personalized PDF per row, each named after the first column's value. Files are deleted within 30 minutes.
Generate up to 500 personalized documents from a single template, instead of editing and exporting one at a time.
Use whichever spreadsheet format you already have. Column headers become your placeholder field names.
No trial, no watermark added to your pages.
Your template and data are handled over an encrypted connection and deleted within 30 minutes.
Write your document in Word exactly as you normally would, then type a placeholder wherever a value should be filled in, surrounded by double curly braces: Dear {{name}}, your balance of {{amount}} is due on {{due_date}}. Placeholders can appear anywhere in the document, including inside tables, and can use any field name as long as it matches a column header in your data file. Field matching is not case-sensitive, so a column called Name in your spreadsheet will correctly fill a {{name}} placeholder in your template.
If a placeholder does not have a matching column in your data file, it is left in the output exactly as written, such as {{missing_field}}, rather than causing an error, so you can spot and fix any mismatched field names in the result.
Each row in your Excel or CSV file becomes one PDF. The first row must be column headers, and every column header should match a placeholder name used in your template. Any extra columns not referenced in the template are simply ignored. Each output PDF is named after the value in the first column of its row, such as a customer name, so the files in your downloaded ZIP are easy to identify at a glance.
Upload a Word template with {{field}} placeholders, upload a spreadsheet where each row is one recipient and column headers match your placeholder names, then download the result. You get one personalized PDF per row, all in a single ZIP file.
Type two curly braces around a field name, matching a column header in your data file, such as {{first_name}} or {{invoice_total}}. Matching is not case-sensitive, and the placeholder can appear anywhere in the document, including inside tables.
Up to 500 rows per batch. If your spreadsheet has more, split it into smaller files and run the merge more than once.
It is left in the output exactly as written, such as {{unmatched_field}}, rather than causing an error. This makes it easy to spot a typo in a field name after reviewing the result.
