This tool does not generate chapters. It reads the chapters that are already stored in a video file and lists them with their title, start and end, in seconds. That is useful for an MKV, a movie, or an export from an editing program that contains a chapter list. A video filmed on a phone has none, and the report will then say that no chapters were found.
Drag an MP4, MKV or MOV file into the tool, or click to pick it on your device.
The tool reads the chapters already stored inside the file. It does not analyse the picture or the sound.

Your original video is not changed. The tool only reads it.
A clear list instead of hunting through a player menu.
The file is never re-encoded or modified.

Using ffprobe, the tool reads the chapters written into the file's container. For each one the report gives the title and the start and end times, in seconds. If there are no chapters, the report says so. The tool never invents any.
It does not look at what happens in the video and it does not detect changes of topic. To make YouTube chapters, write the timestamps in the description yourself: the first at 00:00, at least three, each at least 10 seconds long. To help you find the moments, automatic subtitles give you a timestamped transcript.
Reading the chapters of a file helps you find your way around it, or reuse its structure.
No. It only reads the chapters that are already stored inside the video file. If the file has none, the report says "No chapters found in this video".
For every chapter: its title (or "Chapter 1", "Chapter 2" and so on if it has none), the time it starts and the time it ends, in seconds.
Mostly MKV files and some MP4 files made by an editing program or an encoder, or movies ripped together with their chapters. A video filmed on a phone usually has none.
YouTube reads timestamps written in the video description. The first one must be 00:00, you need at least three, and each chapter must last at least 10 seconds. You have to write them yourself: this tool does not create them.
